Diplomacy in Paradise

PacMUN provides high level debate, facilitated by outstanding college staff, all wrapped up in the aloha spirit.

Our Committees

We strive to innovate, providing you with exciting experiences, and lively debate. From a step into the past with historical committees, complex and evolving joint crisis, engaging general assemblies and more. PacMUN strives to provide the best MUN in the middle of the Pacific.

Our Chairs

Our conference attracts staffers from a large network, not only of Hawai‘i high school alumni, but also our wider PacMUN community as well. We recruit and select fantastic, creative, and innovative chairs and crisis directors, each with unique life experiences and perspectives on Model UN.

A Unique Experience

PacMUN provides a unique and unrivaled setting for debate. You will find a sense of community and cooperation among our participating schools not found at any other conference. We aim to foster fruitful collaboration and growth through a variety of experiences outside of the committee room.

Pre-Conference Excursion and Cultural Activities

We know many of you will have travelled overnight to be with us. On Friday morning, out-of-town delegates go on a unique excursion before the conference begins. Whether you hail from Kauai or Kobe, we invite you to share in the history and culture of our island home.

Hula and Haku

PacMUN 2019 delegates learned how to weave lei out of flowers and leaves, and a traditional hula dance. The delegates and staff then performed what they learned at opening ceremonies. View our PacMUN 2019 recap to see more!

Never Forget

PacMUN 2017 and 2018 delegates remembered the “date which will live in infamy,” as they visited the Battleship Missouri Memorial and Pearl Harbor National Memorial (USS Arizona memorial), respectively.

Feel the Mana

PacMUN 2018 delegates journeyed up the mountain to visit Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama, where they were treated to a discussion and demonstration of mana, or spiritual energy.

Opening Ceremonies

All delegates, staff, and advisers are treated to a buffet dinner at opening ceremonies. During this time, delegates are encouraged to meet new people and make new friends before committee starts.

Every year, PacMUN hosts a fantastic keynote speaker to provide insight on global issues and current affairs. Notable past speakers have included Benjamin Lee who served with the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan and Colleen Hanabusa, former Member of the House of Representatives from Hawai‘i’s 1st congressional district.
